The Hollowdeck Writer’s Guild in Baltimore, Maryland
The Hollowdeck Writer’s Guild is a community
multi-genre writers centered just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. The Guild
exists to provide support for working writers in the Maryland, Virginia,
DC and Pennsylvania area. In a series of working weekends, we gather to re-connect,
discuss our work, write together and offer one another constructive, useful,
honest and skillful feedback.
These weekend sessions are open to writers
of any ability or genre. They offer the opportunity for on-going students
to check-in and continue to pursue the projects they have underway, as well
as welcoming new students into our community. Together we learn build skills,
patterns and partnerships that sustain our work as writers. Join us as we
each recommit to our writing practice and set up substantial and manageable
goals for the year.
These classes are taught by Max
Regan three times per year, with class sessions
running 1-6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Hollowdeck Writer’s Guild in Maryland is
hosted by The Sophia Center in Lineboro, Maryland. The Sophia Center is located
in Northwest Baltimore County on 45 acres of land that has been placed in
an easement and planted with native trees and warm season grasses for ground
nesting birds. These beautiful acres also offer rolling fields, a spacious
pond and stunning sunsets. Our weekend class sessions are held in the light-filled
upper floor of a renovated barn, a place of wood, windows, peace and quiet.
Tuition is $195 for the weekend if you register by the deadline. A $50 deposit is required at registration. Class size is limited.
For upcoming dates of weekend sessions, please see the
current flyer (PDF). Please
contact Max to register or if you have any questions
about the class. Students will receive driving directions and information
on local accommodations and B&Bs that are close to The Sophia Center.
